Weddings

1. Do I have to be a member of the Sandhurst Trust to hold a Wedding Reception at RMAS?

Yes; in order to hold a wedding reception at RMAS either the bride or groom must be a member. (For confirmation of entitlement to marry here you should consult the Chapel staff)

2. Where can Weddings be held at the RMAS?

Wedding ceremonies can be held at the RMC or RC Chapel. Receptions can be held at the Lakeside. Very occasionally in recess or Academy leave weekends it is possible to use the New College or Old College Dining Room.

3.  Can Civil Ceremonies be conducted at the Academy?

No.  The Academy is not licensed for the conduct of Civil Ceremonies.

4. When can weddings be held at RMAS?

Weddings can be held throughout the year subject to availability of the RMC. Please contact the Chaplain’s Office for further details – 01276 412543.  Wedding receptions can only be held at the Lakeside between May and early October.

5. How do we hire marquees for the Lakeside?

Marquees may be hired through a local company called ‘Sandhurst Marquees’. Click here for details. You are also able to employ your own company.

6. Are we able to use our own caterers?

No – catering must be supplied by Eurest Support Services (ESS), caterers for RMAS.

7. What costs are involved with weddings at RMAS?

The following costs are set for all weddings:

  • The MOD's Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) charges a licence preparation fee, insurance and sets facility hire charges for rooms/areas used. In addition the Foundation charges an administration fee for the time committed to setting up the event.  Please enquire for current rates.
  • Catering is subject to a separate contract with ESS who are happy to discuss your requirements and advise on costs.
  • If you are using the Lakeside you will need to contract with a marquee provider (see above)

8. Can Non-Members hold events at the RMAS?

Yes non-members can hold events at the RMAS but (except for weddings) a discount is offered to members of more than one year's standing.

9.  What are the costs?

10.  What is the maximum Capacity? 

RMAS has a wide variety of rooms suitable for meetings, presentations, lunches, receptions and dinners, from small private dining rooms for groups under 20 to lecture theatres for over a thousand.  Please see the Wedings & Private Hire page for more details.
