in association with The Sandhurst Trust
The CAL's Leadership Speaker Series brings international, national and British Army leaders and leadership thinkers to an Army audience. Speakers are researchers or practitioners in their fields and come to share their knowledge, ideas, research and experiences of leadership. It gives leaders the opportunity to ask subject matter experts their personal views on the practical application of leadership.
This CAL Speaker Series will take place at, Worthy Down Defence College of Policing and Administration Winchester SO21 2RG on Wed 25 March 20.

Accommodation. There is no accommodation booked by the CAL for the Speaker Series. The timings for the event have been arranged so there is no accommodation requirement. If accommodation is required, it can be arranged by contacting Worthy Down Accommodation staff.
Buffet Lunch. There is a unique opportunity to attend a buffet lunch with Major Lewis MC and 40 other leadership enthusiasts. Places are available on application and are open to all ranks. You will be notified one week prior to the event if you are selected to attend. Dress. Orders of dress for the event for military personnel is MTP and for civilian personnel jacket and tie
Car passes. Car passes will be issued on entry. In order to improve the efficiency of this process, personnel arriving with private cars are asked to inform the CAL of their Make/Model/VRN on completing the attendance proforma. If you have a group of people arriving by coach or minibus, please can you attach a nominal roll and annotate that the group will be arriving by coach or minibus when completing the attendance proforma.
Car-parking. Within Worthy Down all vehicles are to be parked at the designated car parking area.
Summary. This event is designed to give leaders the opportunity to ask subject matter experts their personal views on the practical application of leadership. Member tickets are for registered members of the Sandhurst Trust. All other bookings can be made via the non-member link. Serving members of the MOD, including civil servants, can register to attend on the CAL SharePoint site (for those using MOD IT systems).
About the Speaker:
Major Russell Lewis MC PARA
Major Russell Lewis MC was born in Barnet 1973. He attended The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 1993 and commissioned into the Parachute Regiment. During his time in the army he predominantly commanded or worked in training roles, serving in Northern Ireland, Kosovo and Iraq. In 2008 he commanded a Rifle Company in Afghanistan, for which he was awarded the Military Cross. He subsequently authored ‘Company Commander’ based around his experiences on the tour. He left service in 2013 and now delivers leadership training and high-performance team building to both the commercial and charitable sector. He joined the Regular Reserves and took up post at the Centre for Army Leadership in 2017
