Dress code for Officer Cadets is mess dress.

Dress for all guests, including serving military, is black tie.

The dress code will be strictly enforced at all times during the event. Dinner jackets, bow-ties and shoes must be worn at all times. 


No guests in the lines, at all.

Officer Cadets can stay out of camp overnight – but have a parade time on Sat am. Timings will be given by CRSM near the time but working off 0645 hrs.

Cadets can leave between the end of the lunch and the start of the ball, less there is any G4 action that needs to be completed. This will be under Coy direction working with the RQMS. End state the faster you hand in Blues, Swords and all other kit and equipment you will be free to leave. The RQMS will give direction.

Can I bring my own alcohol for company drinks?

Commissioning Ball guests are not to bring alcohol on site. Reception drinks are included as part of your ticket price.

Guests will be searched upon entry and any alcohol will be confiscated. Alcohol will not be held or returned to guests.

Is there a cash or card bar?

There is a facility to use a card service to purchase drinks however due to limited internet connection it is requested that guests use cash in the bar where possible.  

What is the last day for booking tickets?

There are a few tickets still available.  Please email to order extra tickets.  There will be no refund for cancelled tickets after Monday 26 July 2021.

Is there an age limit for guests?

The minimum age for the guests is 18 years old.

Can I bring more than 4 guests?

Once the initial ticket deadline has passed, any remaining tickets from the original allocation (up to event capacity) will be put into a pot.

A link to purchase these remaining tickets will be emailed to your Ball Representative for onward transmission. 

Extra tickets are not guaranteed and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
No further tickets will be sold once event capacity has been reached.

Will I be issued hard copy tickets?

Hard copy tickets will be provided for guests only. Officer Cadets will not be issued tickets.

Hard copy guest tickets will be passed to the Commissioning Ball Reps the week commencing Monday 26th July 2021. Officer Cadets are responsible for passing tickets to their guests. Entrance into the Academy on the day will not be permitted without a valid ticket.

How do I update my guest list?

Where is guest parking?

There is no on site parking for this event.

There will be a taxi rank by Churchill tank after the event.

Is there accommodation available?

Unfortunately there is no on site accommodation.  Local hotels book up quickly on ball days so early booking is advised.
