Debate Topic:
"This House believes that security must be allowed to take priority over liberty."

Speakers include:

Colonel Tim Collins OBE
A retired Northern Irish British Army officer. He is best known for his role in the Iraq War in 2003, and his inspirational eve-of-battle speech, a copy of which is apparently hung in the Oval Office at the White House. He is currently CEO and co-founder of intelligence-based security services company New Century. 

Claire Fox
A British libertarian writer and the Director and Founder of the libertarian think tank, 'The Institute of Ideas' and a former member of the Revolutionary Communist Party. She is also a panellist on BBC Radio 4's The Moral Maze and a panellist on Question Time and Any Questions. She is an Executive Board member of the Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction (IRDR), UCL, and a Fellow of Wellington College.

Richard Thompson OBE
The Chief Executive of FaceWatch, a secure online environment for crime reporting and networking. Previously an Army officer who, after he left, gained extensive international experience at the the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. His last job prior to FaceWatch was as Chief Constable of the Civil Nuclear Constabulary. 

Dr Louise Arimatsu
A visiting Senior Fellow with the LSE's Centre for Women, Peace and Security. Her research focuses predominantly on international law and war and was involved in the production of the Tallinn Manual on the International Law Applicable to Cyber Warfare. She teachers human rights law and convenes a number of courses with the LSE's Centre for the Study of Human Rights.
