Although the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst is an enclosed establishment, hundreds of visitors are welcomed each year on historical tours organised by the Sandhurst Trust.
Immerse yourself in the history of this unique establishment, recognisable around the world where officer training has continued, unbroken since 1812. Stand in rooms where many statesmen and rulers have trained including our future King, HRH Prince of Wales, Winston Churchill and current King Abdullah II of Jordan. Learn about key military figures whose names adorn the Prestige rooms in Old College including the Duke of Wellington and 1st Duke of Marlborough.
Tours take place throughout the year and are led by experienced tour guides, all ex-Military who share their extensive knowledge on the history of the Academy and its buildings.
Typical tours last 3 hours, giving visitors plenty of time to take in the history of the buildings and rooms. Tours can now include a visit to the new Queen Elizabeth II statue that was installed in 2022 to commemorate Her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Tours take place on set days of the year to accommodate individuals and small groups (less than 8).

All tours must be pre-booked, and visitors must bring photo ID (passport, driving licence, etc) when visiting the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
Those with limited mobility are welcome on the tours, but please be aware that Old College is an old building and there is only one disabled entrance and uneven flagstones throughout. Access to the Roman Catholic Chapel is via a flight of stairs so may be unsuitable for some guests.
Sandhurst is a military training establishment thus must give training and other military activities the highest priorities. There is accordingly a small risk of disruption and/or cancellation to visits due to changes in the Academy’s programme therefore, Sandhurst Trust reserve the right to change or even cancel the tour if a military requirement should arise that makes this necessary.
